Announcing Summit Skiboards Custom 110cm - The Evolution of Snowriding

The Evolution Begins! Handcrafted, one pair at a time, with extreme attention to detail, the all new 2005/06 Summit Custom 110 cm skiboards are like no other skiboards ever created. Designed for true high performance, these one-of-a-kind skiboards will definitely push the limits beyond what you ever imagined was possible on skiboards. The parabolic sidecut combines impeccably with the solid wood core to deliver almost effortless carves, with stability at speeds that will surprise you.

The Custom 110 is hand constructed from solid ash, a high energy, very lively and responsive wood, that not only delivers an incredibly smooth ride, but delivers enhanced stability at speed. When you lay into these boards, the flex is distributed evenly throughout the length of the skiboards, unlike most other skiboards we have ever ridden (and we have ridden them all). The consistent tip to tail flex brings a new level of carving to skiboards, taking a giant step beyond what is experienced in boards made from the usual combinations of fiberglass/wood cores (and certainly PU cores).

These hand made skiboards are designed for high performance, all mountain riding, being equally at home laying it over on the groomed runs, mastering the moguls and glades, ripping it up in the parks and pipes, cruising the steeps or venturing into the backcountry. The parabolic sidecut was made to combine impeccably with the solid wood core to deliver almost effortless carves with stability at speed that will surprise you. Whether burning holes in your mitts while dragging them on the ground, in high speed turns, spinning on ice and hardpack or blasting through crud, the ride is so smooth it will bring a smile to your face again and again. Additionally, the wide design platform allows you to float through those hidden powder stashes with ease.

These perfectly symmetrical twin tips were designed for ease of riding whether forwards or backwards or just spinning down the mountain and making yourself dizzy! No mass produced skiboards can compare to the smooth ride of these Custom 110 skiboards, no matter what you choose to do on the slopes. To complete the package, special carbon steel edges are integrated into the design as well as 4 stainless steel inserts in a centered position for maximum flexibility to position your bindings the way you choose to ride.

The Custom 110 cm is constructed with graphite, sintered bases - highly durable bases that allow for maximum wax absorption to ensure proper glide. Like speed? Graphite bases were chosen for speed and performance. You won't be disappointed. We chose black bases, because black bases are easier to repair dings or gouges and bring them back to new looking condition. In contrast, printed bases are much more difficult to hide repairs.

The 110 top sheet is made of hand selected ash for a unique, one-of-a-kind look. Five coats of specially formulated Varnish, custom made for this Custom Summit 110, by Basler of Switzerland, are applied. The special varnish top coat protects the beauty of these skiboards, while also preserving the wood core and highlighting the individualized wood grain pattern. Top sheets are screen printed by hand with laser etched numbering. Every pair is numbered, indicating the order in which it was produced. We will sell these in sequence starting from the lowest numbers to the highest, from 001 to 125. First come, first served.

SPECIAL RELEASE: The Custom 110 Classic LE
In addition to the Custom 110 with rounded tips and tails (the more traditional skiboard look) we are also introducing the Custom 110cm Classic LE. This was designed with a classic European shape resembling LaCroix skis. These have been made in limited production (thus the LE designation) with only 30 pairs available. These are sequentially numbered 001 - 035. Other than the tip and tail shape, these are identical to the Custom 110 in every way. The Classic LE has front and rear tips that are shaped with more of a point. These tips make it easier to attach climbing skins should you choose to do so. For the backcountry we recommend the Fritschi Freeride or Explore bindings for easy climbing as well as maximum downhill performance.
